It’s time for March National Craft Month! A Quirky Crafter is hosting a month of card making challenges on the blog. One lucky random winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to Scrapbook.com. 1 entry per day per person. There is a list of the daily challenges for March HERE. There is a $50 gift certificate to my favorite online craft store up for grabs.
March Card Challenges Day 1: My Spring card features the lovely Penny Black Stitched Flowers. I used Doodlebug twine to embellish. Simple coloring with markers, paper tearing and layering. And I added a stitched tag die by Technique Tuesday with 2 word stamps from my stash. I inked around the floral image edge with a dark brown to enhance. Easy peasy!
March Card Challenge Day 5: For this challenge I went to my Pinterest Card and Rubberstamping Board and chose this card by Michelle Mills a Stampin’ Up demonstrator as my inspiration. I knew I had the perfect stamps to use. Unity Stamp Co. designed a set to benefit the animals harmed in the Australian wildfires. The set is called Koala-ty Friend and it is absolutely precious. 50% of proceeds benefit the Australian Wildfire Relief. The stamp set is so sweet and versatile. I’m not affiliated but as an animal lover it touches my heart.
March Card Challenge Day 7: This one was a lot of fun! And easy, didn’t really have to think about colors since I really only had the one in different shades. I used Penny Black Birthday Critters and washi tape from my stash.
Do you have a craft stash or hoard? You know, things you just had to have, were gonna use, but after you put them away or stuffed them in a container….poof they went into a crafty black hole? Or is your craft area super organized and you know exactly what all you have and where it is located? Or is it like mine and when you want to find something it’s almost like you are at a craft store discovering things for the first time? Yup, that’s me.
I was looking for a particular stamp set of Spring critters with its matching dies….for 3 days! While I was looking I found sets and embellishments, etc, that I swear I’ve never seen LOL. Such as this adorable set that I got years ago from Studio Calico. It doesn’t appear to be available now but you might find it on one of the Facebook groups that buy, sell, trade or destash.
When I found that set I just had to use it, that’s when I decided to do a monthly Stash Buster Challenge here on the blog! The challenge being to pull out an old stamp set and create a new card with it. For the March Challenge I chose this set and here’s the card I created. And yes, there’s a half green cloud lol, I picked up the wrong marker by mistake. No judgments if you have little ‘errors’, I consider them artistic expression lol. Like, hey, I meant to have a half green cloud! Kinda like the cat that falls and tries to act like “What you are gawking at, I totally meant to do a somersault off of the back of the couch”.

I apologize for being absent the last week or so. Our house has had guests…of the very unwelcome variety. Their names are sinus infection, bronchitis, and we are ready for them to vacate!
Sitting at the computer has not been in the cards and of course it’s gotten me behind. I’m starting to slowly get back in the groove.
I’ve decided to extend the deadline on the sketch challenge to February 21st to allow more time for me to get a few samples up. I will update the original post and in case you haven’t seen it yet here’s the link to the SketchChallenge. I’d love to see lots of lovely entries, one lucky person will be randomly picked to receive a $25 gift certificate to my favorite online craft shop Scrapbook.Com
I plan to back up and going by this weekend, Lord willing. I hope my guests don’t find your home!
How do you feel about challenges? Specifically, the card making or scrapbooking variety? For me that’s one of my favorite ways to give me the kick in the butt I sometimes need to wake my creative side up. There’s a $25 gift certificate up for grabs to one lucky participant! OH, by the way if you are a digital scrapbooker check out the Month of Challenges #8 at The Lilypad! It runs the entire month of January and there are prizes galore. I usually participate but this year I’ve got too many irons in the fire.
Speaking of challenges….I’ve got a challenge for y’all! It’s not difficult at all. I created a super simple sketch that can be used for a rubber stamped card(I love stamping!), a computer generated card, traditional scrapbook page or digital scrapbook page(my fave), or even for an art or bullet journal page. The choice is yours.
Here’s the sketch to follow, add embellishments as desired. The sketch is open to interpretation, please make sure to keep it fairly obvious that you followed the sketch but make it your own! I’m not a stickler to the ‘rules’ I just love seeing other crafter’s creations, what better way to get inspired, right?!
Simple requirements: ***Please note the date changes below***
Create a new project: rubber stamped or computer generated card, traditional scrapbook or digital scrapbook page, or art journal/bullet journal page.
Upload to an online gallery, Pinterest, your blog, Photobucket, etc, and comment below with the link.
Enter as many times as you like, but with a new project for each entry.
Please put in your comment what products you used to create your project.
If you used any special techniques please share if you don’t mind.
DEADLINE to enter is February 12, 2020 February 21, 2020 at 11:59pm CST.
One lucky participant will be randomly selected by a random number generator to win a $25.00 gift certificate to www.scrapbook.com which is one of my favorite online shops for paper crafts!
