If I’ve learned one thing during the COVID-19 pandemic it’s how important to have basic pantry and household supplies on hand. In my house, and I’m sure I’m not alone, we took it for granted that we could go get what we needed every week…sometimes 2-3 times a week. We were sorely mistaken. We still haven’t been able to find Clorox wipes or Lysol. And that’s just because we ran out. I’m not a hoarder but heck, we like to keep things clean.
Lol, we were down to 3 rolls of toilet paper when everyone started buying up. It would be funny if not so sad. It took a while to find any but we made do. And canned goods, I usually keep 2 cans of each thing we use on hand. That was great until I went to restock and couldn’t find what I needed.
Soooo…that leads me to the free printables (download at the end of this post) I created for you and for me! I’m going to tape the Pantry Staples checklist inside the door of my pantry. The weekly meal planner is pretty handy especially with the shopping list that you can write in and cut off.
I hope you find these handy. I had fun making them and look forward to using them.
Hey everyone! I pray everyone is doing well through this very difficult time. It’s been a little less than a month for us being pretty much locked down. My daughter, Amanda, and I go as far as to get food, meds, pet food, goat food, and that’s it. I don’t even want to go anywhere which is so not like me, I usually have lunch with a group of ladies at our Elks lodge but of course it’s shut down as well.
John, my husband, just got word that his machine shop will mostly likely shut down in the next week or so. That’s pretty scary, we can’t lose our insurance, but from what I understand we’ll be ok and can keep it.
I wanted to create a little something for those of us that are locked in…something to do, I chose a coloring book because it really is very relaxing. It’s in pdf format you can print it or color with your iPad or tablet. I’ll post the a few of the images that are in it below. I put quotes in half of the pages but also included just the floral images so that you can add your own quotes or creative lettering. If you need a different file format let me know! Download instructions below images.
There are more images in the download, I didn’t wanna bog down the post for ya. Click the pink graphic above to be taken to the download. I originally was going to do it as an opt-in for new newsletter subscribers but that seemed a little wrong at this time in our lives. So just enjoy. If you feel inclined to subscribe please do —> HERE! I don’t send out over 1 a month unless there’s something extra special going on.
God bless you all and if you ever need someone to listen please reach out, I listen with no judgment.
The talented people at Design Cuts have been doing video tutorials this week for Procreate. For FREE! It’s been amazing so far. I played around with some of the brushes I purchased during the first day’s videos.
And came up with this cute free printable. Read on to get the link.
I wanted to create something pretty and inspirational, and to me Shine is inspirational. We all need to feel good about ourselves and when I think of the word shine it makes me think sparkly, pretty, and I instantly smile and feel better.
It would be really cute in a little girls room in a simple white frame I think. Or anywhere for that matter. If you print it on card stock I think it would look best.
Without further adieu here’s the link to download the free printable!
Stay healthy and take a moment every day to remember to shine.
I’ve got some cute & funny Valentine Cards for your kids, or for you, heck, I’d use them! I’ll keep this short, this is a set of 16 cute cards for your kids, or you 😉 to hand out.
They are in PDF format. Simply print them and cut them out. Easy peasy. Hope y’all enjoy. Download by clicking any of the graphics in this post or the highlighted links.
I don’t know about y’all but I’ve never really been one to make New Year’s resolutions…or at least to stick to the ones I loosely made. For one thing it seems most people, including me, don’t stick to them and another thing they typically seem kinda unrealistic or cheesy. This year though I’ve got a new outlook on life and I feel like 2020 is the year to strive for more.
At this time in my life I’m trying to become more ‘real’ and I’m trying to really make things work for me…maybe it’s ’cause I’m 52? Lol. At any rate I’ve come up with a list of resolutions that I think are realistic, meaningful and doable.

MeaningfulNew year resolution suggestions for 2020
Wake up 30 minutes earlier and plan out your day.
Start a daily routine and stick to it.
Shower and get out of your pajamas, even if you work at home and have nowhere to go!
Make your bed daily. Doesn’t have to be perfect but at least smooth things out so it looks inviting.
Clear the clutter daily. Even if it’s just moving things to a basket until cleaning day.
Do something physical for at least 30 minutes every day. Walk, try yoga, anything to get you moving.
Plan weekly menus and shopping lists so you have the ingredients on hand, no more urgent trips to the store.
Smile more, you’ll automatically feel happier. Trust me, it works!
Take the time to say hello to people you come in contact with no matter how briefly.
Make a cleaning schedule and accomplish at least one thing every day.
Don’t be afraid to ask your family to help out, no one should have to do it all.
Don’t try to keep up with the Jones’s whoever they are.
Volunteer, even once a month will be rewarding. It can be just walking dogs at the local shelter. Anything that helps someone less fortunate and brightens someone’s day.
Read more just for fun.
Listen to upbeat music, something that makes you tap your toes and sing along to does wonders for motivating you while you are doing housework.
Eat healthier.
Drink more water. I know that gets said a lot but it really helps to clear the head and cleanse the body.
Avoid being around negative people and drama. You can be friendly without letting them drag you down, know when to walk away.
Cook and eat at home more. Not only will you save money but it’s much more relaxing to have dinner with the family in the privacy of your home, most of the time, lol.
Play with your kids or grand kids or your pets. Preferably, outside in the fresh air if you can. Even video games can be fun but being outside throwing a frisbee or shooting hoops can’t be beat.
Get organized. It’s so hard to stay focused when everything’s a mess. Especially if you work from home.
Do something creative at least once a week.
Journal.
Make lists of things to do, things to purchase, etc, it’s such a nice feeling when you can cross something off!
i’m going to work on these things myself
I’m hoping by making this list of ideas I’ll work harder to follow them myself. I’m terrible about not getting dressed unless I’m going somewhere. Kind of embarrassing going to the door at 1 o’clock in the afternoon still in my jammies! And organized, HA! I’m anything but and sometimes it’s overwhelming to come into my craft/computer room to work when there’s is crap lying everywhere! It sometimes looks like a tornado went through the room.
I’ve done better this year as far as cooking and meal planning, I don’t usually plan every day but I do try to have all of the ingredients for a week’s worth of meals. I sometimes don’t stick to the plan as well as I should. But I’m going to work on it.
I have noticed that since I came out of a period of deep depression my outlook has brightened up. Partly because the meds are finally right. But a lot of it is to do with smiling more, starting a new hobby with this blog has given me something to strive for. Hopefully, one day I can monetize it and contribute to the household financially. But for now just writing and creating is very uplifting. And, I’m finally feeling creative again, it’s been years!

Let me know if you have any ideas to add! I’ll definitely share my progress as it happens.
